For generations, the Minardi family, has been taking care of these vineyards, and keeps doing it with the same means and the same passion as their ancestors did back then.
While in Rome, take your chance to experience a one-of-a-kind guided tour of the town of Frascati and our traditional Frascati Wine vineyards, cultivated with the old farming system. You will have the chance to taste some boutique wines and Extra virgin olive oil, as well as excellent Italian food in one of the oldest and most charming farmhouses in Frascati!

The Minardi Family: old traditions in Frascati, just a stone’s throw away from Rome
A short day trip from Rome to discover an ancient tradition… For centuries the Minardi Family has been growing the vineyards of this beautiful piece of land at the gates of the Eternal City of Rome: take your chance for an unforgettable day exploring the Roman Castles, while savoring delicious Italian food and tasting wine at the Minardi Frascati Winery! One of Frascati’s oldest and best-known families, they have been landowners and vintners ever since, owning much of what is now Frascati DOCG terrain. They earned themselves the saying ‘Minardi la mattina presto e la sera tardi’, which stands for “Minardi early at morning and late at night”, describing their strong work ethic on the land. Our family began making wine at the Minardi Winery in the 19th century and continued until 2010 when we have started bottling our wine for the first time.
Before our wine was like all traditional Frascati wine: filled in different flasks and barrels, it was bought on location in Frascati’s traditional taverns, called ‘Fraschette’, where people brought their own food and were served the house wine. The Minardis once owned a Fraschetta in the old town of Frascati, where they mainly sold their house wine.
